Tokens4Change, presented by Tangerine raisef critical funds for Youth Without Shelter, an empowering house of support in Etobicoke that provides a safe refuge for over 1,000 youth experiencing homelessness every year. Over the past seven years Tokens4Change volunteers have raised a remarkable $562,088.26.
Tokens4Change is focused on youth acting for youth, one step at a time.Throughout the year, they run workshops in schools (high school, university, college) that break down for students homelessness stereotypes and myths and introduces them to the realities of youth homelessness.
Students also have the option to work with professional artists to create art activism pieces that they share with the public on T4C Day…..spoken word theatre, music, dance and art installations.
On one day in February all the students/schools with the support of hundreds of individual volunteers can be found at TTC stations, PATH and office locations all across the city collecting one donation at a time. At select locations you will find students sharing and performing their art.
