Last September my family and I headed off to Florida for a family vacation. We were driving, and I wanted to make sure we chose the best route for our trip, so I was talking to my brother who has made the drive many times. He told me the way they like to go, and then he suggested I check out TripTiks at CAA. He said it would be very helpful, and I trust his judgement, so I checked it out.

CAA had a lot of complementary planning resources for CAA Members including customized maps, tour guides and TripTik route planners to help you take the scenic route or get there quickly. You can search for flights, hotels, car rentals, vacation packages and cruises, and get membership rates for them. Tourbooks are available online and in print to help you plan your trips too. With a click of a button, you can find out about road conditions, road construction, traffic cameras, weather and road closures.

Then I tried the TripTik Travel Planner. With this, I could enter in our starting point and our destination and get some routes for our trip. After doing that, I could choose what I want to see on my map, including gas stations, restaurants, hotels, etc. When I zoomed in I could see where there was road work on our route, which ultimately helped us choose our path. It is a great useful travel tool, and I will absolutely be using it again.

TripTiks also has drive tips, where you can find out your estimated driving time, the mileage count for your trip, see photos and get a detailed narrative of your trip. And of course, you can purchase some travel insurance from the TripTiks page. It’s the perfect place to plan any trips you may have planned.
