About JumpStart

Founded in 2005, Jumpstart Charities helps kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities. Jumpstart is more than just about getting kids active. It’s about giving kids from families in financial need the same chance to participate as their neighbours, their classmates and their friends. Whether it’s the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favourite one, no kid should be left out.

Jumpstart’s Impact

For kids in need, a chance to play is about more than just getting active. It’s a chance to boost their self-esteem. A chance to nurture their creativity and help them do better in school. It’s a chance to connect them to their communities, so they can be a part of something bigger.

Sports and physical activity are a proven way to boost kids’ self-worth, confidence, and overall mental health.

Social Skills
Playing on a team can help kids work together, feel included, and build friendships that last a lifetime.

Getting active can help kids stay positive in school, improve their grades, and be driven to achieve their goals

Jumpstart Summer Camp

With JumpStart’s nine-week virtual camp, you can expect awesome counsellors – some of Canada’s most amazing athletes! – and cool weekly themes. The best part? No extensive packing list here! Kids won’t need anything except themselves and maybe a few simple things from around the house to participate.

Tune in to Jumpstart social media weekdays at 8:30 a.m. EST for details on the day’s events and activities. Camp activities are best suited for kids between the ages of 5 and 12 – but of course, all are welcome. See you there!

At Jumpstart, they  are committed to ensuring kids in need have equal access to sports and physical activity – an equal chance to be their best.
