The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation is celebrating the launch of its first-ever national peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, Colour To Conquer.  This initiative invites Canadians to colour their hair in bold hues during the month of May to raise funds and awareness for world-leading cancer research at one of the top 5 cancer research centers in the world – Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Known for its ability to affect moods, feelings and emotions, Colour To Conquer encourages Canadians to get creative and bold with colour to help uplift and inspire those who have been touched by cancer.  The program offers Canadians a fun yet meaningful way to support a serious cause.

The statistics are sobering. Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, making cancer one of the leading causes of death in Canada and world-wide.

“As Canada’s largest cancer research and care centre, The Princess Margaret is pioneering cutting-edge ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer…but we can’t do it alone,” says Michael Burns, President & CEO of The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. “By colouring your hair and raising funds for world-leading cancer research, you’re helping us make great strides in extending the lives of those living with cancer.”

Last month, the campaign kicked off with the unveiling of their first-ever Colour Club — an immersive pop-up-for-a-cause in the heart of downtown that successfully attracted hundreds of visitors and raised awareness around The Princess Margaret’s Colour To Conquer program.

The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation would like to thank the following sponsors for their support of this national initiative:  Bell Media, JOICO, Allied Beauty Association, CANRAD Beauty, DANNYCO, Salon Magazine and Extend-it.
